Anything Christmas exchange received...

Alrighty...Let's try this again! I had the WRONG Christmas exchange picture in here! I'm just a LITTLE frazzled with the holiday rush! Ha!
I received this VERY cute little wooden box from Michele yesterday for our "anything Christmas" exchange. She also added in enough holiday/winter type buttons to keep me supplied for a quite a while!
SUPER GREAT little gift you sent Michelle!
Thank you again so much!

Merry Christmas to everyone! Keep safe and have a wonderful week!

Exchange received from Aubree

I received today this beautiful Christmas Ornament from Aubree. I love how she finished it and looks so great between my Christmas tree ornaments.

Thank you Aubree,
Michele

Received ornie from Lynn

I received my Anything Christmas ornament today from Lynn. It is a design by Blue Ribbon Designs, with a few personal touches by Lynn. She added a star on top of the big tree and beads on the branches of the two small trees. And the backing fabric is perfect! It is going right on my ornament tree! :)

Lynn also included a few 'goodies' : package of beads,in Christmas colors; package of assorted teensy buttons also in Christmas colors and 8 holiday note cards. I love the entire package Lynn! Thanks a lot!

Just notes

I was just updating the sidebar notes and I wanted to ask everybody to be sure to tell us WHICH exchange you received, since some of the mailings are overlapping. I have to go find my spreadsheet if you don't tell me which one you're talking about.

I see a couple of the Christmas exchanges have hit the mail, I'm so looking foward to seeing these. Christmas is my favorite and I am quite upset with myself for not being able to participate in this exchange. I know you will all be getting something really terrific!

Exchange Received!!

I received my exchange from Bonnie yesterday. Unhappily I don't have a camera at the moment so I can't put up a picture. It is a really nice pillow/pincushion. I hope Bonnie puts up a pic as I would like to put it in my album as received. Thank you very much, It is really cute and a perfect addition to my Thanksgiving decorations. Couldn't bring a lot with me so holiday decorations are far and few between. Again, Thank you Bonnie for a great exchange. To my exchange, I will mail by the end of the week. I am having trouble finding an envelope to put it in. Not sure where to shop here yet. Not to worry it will arrive soon.

Christmas Exchange partners

Hey girls, I know I'm supposed to be making up the new list and sending it out today, but we have to go in to town for doctors and that usually takes up the whole darned day. I'll get to it when I get back this evening and hopefully have them to you by tomorrow.

I guess this could mean you have until this evening to sign up -- if anybody else wants to join, now is the time. We should be home by 7 PM and I'll start working on the list. So if there are any new e-mails by then, I'll add you in. Send e-mail to yoyo_9203 at yahoo dot com and put Christmas Exchange in the subject.

Have a lovely day whereever you are.

Harvest Exchange

Well, it is finished but I haven't been able to get to the store to get the mailing envelope. I will mail soon I promise. I have finally gotten settled in and am again stitching. I am so far behind, we had to stay with friends until the previous tenants house closed, late as usual. Three weeks behind. I couldn't get to my stitching until then. Sorry, I won't be doing the Christmas exchange. I already have two others to get done and a RR on the go. Maybe next time for Easter maybe. Until then, Keep stitching, Keep smiling and always remember to ENJOY.

Harvest Exchange from Aubree

I finally found the camera and got to snap a picture of this beautiful Harvest Exchange I received this week.
Harvest Exchange from Aubree

The little scissor fob is weighted with something that feels suspiciously like BBs. I really love the fabric Aubree used for the needle book, along with the 'Fall' design it just feels like such a happy little piece. I'll bet she had fun putting that together (LOL). There were also some really cute 'extras' in the package which will be included in my blog post. Thank you so much Aubree, this is a really lovely exchange piece.

Oh, and I finally managed to get my harvest piece finished, it will go in the mail first thing tomorrow. Sorry I am so awful late partner. You all should see me sitting in my chair with my feet all tucked up and my knees in my face trying to stitch, hubby keeps threatening to get a picture but I told him I'd throw a chair at him if he does. Anyway, I thank my dear partner for being so patient with me. You'll receive it soon now.

LHN Exchange

Hi guys

So sorry I haven't been around. In a way I wish I was still off sick!! At least I had heaps of blogging and stitching time. These days I am out of the house at 5.30am and not home til 6 most evenings. It sucks!! But things will change (they better lol)

Thank you so much to Yoyo for keeping things going! I will email you this afternoon :-) I'm grabbing some computer and me time!

I have loved seeing everyones Harvest exchanges arriving!! They have been beautiful!!

I have waited in vain for Wendy's LHN to arrive, but finally have to giev up I think :-(. I have stitched a replacement so will get that off to you on Monday Wendy. I did want to show off the missing piece though so I'll post a pic of it on my blog later on when I update it (so call it vanity lol, I was soooo proud of how it turned out!!)

Marie

Harvest Exchange from Lisa V.!

Lisa's package was in my mailbox last night! She stitched Bent' Creek's "Giving Thanks" and made it into an adorable pinkeep! She also included some fabric that already is being put to use.

Thanks so much Lisa..I love my package!!!

Exchange received

I woke up to an e-mail in my box this morning from Aubree. I received her beautiful exchange a day or two ago but hadn't posted yet because the dratted camera has disappeared again. I should have sent Aubree an e-mail but I figured the camera would turn up the minute I did that. Well, no camera yet, and poor Aubree is worried I didn't get it so I'm posting. I'll get a picture as soon as we figure out were DH put the camera after the football last weekend. Sorry I made you worry.

Harvest Time Exchange received.....

So sorry it's taking me so long to post that I have received my "Harvest Time" exchange but I have been out of town for what seems like FOREVER! I am FINALLY home and I think settled back in here for the coming winter.
Elisa sent me the cutest little pillow with a harvest design on it! It's approx. 8" square and will sit on a small shelf I have with a nice fall candle. She also sent me a couple of flosses. I can use those ALWAYS too!
Thank you SO MUCH Elisa!

New Exchange Starting

Oh girls, I'm so sorry. I'm late with just about everything. I haven't sent my exchange yet and I haven't posted the next one either. My back is giving me such fits that I can't sit, lay down or standup without some severe pain somewhere. I'm getting pretty frustrated with it too! Anyway, no stitching happening and if I need to post to a blog it's takes hours of working on the post because I can only stick with it for a few minutes at a time.

I only remember talking to Marie once about our next exchange...and I apologize Marie, I'm thinking it's getting late and we need to get this next one going so I'm just going to post it and you can yell at me later if I didn't get it right (LOL).

We will have only a short two weeks to sign up because with stitching time that will run us pretty close to Christmas time. Ok, stitchers, are your needles ready? Our next exchange is Anything Christmas. You have until October 31 to sign up. As usual please send me an e-mail (yoyo_9203 at yahoo dot com), and please put "Anything Christmas" in the subject line. Include your mailing address and any ideas you might like to suggest for future exchanges.

I think I'm going to have to sit out Anything Christmas (and that's my favorite too) but I don't want to say I can do it and then be behind again later. I apologize again for being late with this...and to my Harvest Time partner, I did get a few more stitches in, but I really had a hard time with it, so I'd rather make it right than hurried. I'll get it done just as fast as I can. You are such a dear to be so understanding, thank you.

Ok, fill up my e-mail box with signups for the Anything Christmas Exchange and you'll make me a happy camper (LOL).

Pumpkins FOR Gillie - from Wendy Jo!

You know how, when you are stitching an exchange, there is that tiny moment at the end when you wish you were keeping the piece because you've got quite fond of it? And you suspect you'll probably never stitch it for yourself? Well, this time I don't have to worry as I received a beautiful pinkeep from Wendy Jo yesterday - in the same pattern that I stitched for Bonnie! Thank you so much, my first pinkeep and I love it. It reminds me that I need to make one and conquer my fear of doing so! I also received three gorgeous threads from GAST in lovely Fall-y colours.
Bonnie, thank you for your kind words and I'm sorry I forgot to mention that it was an LHN!
Now that I'm back with the good girls (having got my exchange completed in time!) - what are we doing next?

My Pumpkins From Gillie

Today was a Happy Day in Gilbert. The mailman left a parcel in the box from Gillie.

It was a wonderful gift stitched so beautifully along with a pretty butterfly card, some Thread Drops and a skein of Weeks Dye Works Harvest.

She didn't mention who the designer was, but I knew immediately that it was LHN's Pumpkins cause I was thinking about stitching one for myself. I am really into pumpkins this year. Thanks so much Gillie, you chose the perfect design to stitch for me. It is my first Little House Needlework.

My Harvest Time exchange piece is on its way to.......?

Good grief, my head is full of radon testing (and remediation, alas!), booking removal vans and wondering how one reasonably sized house can take FOUR days to be packed up!

Anyway, because of all that completely forgot to say that my parcel left the Post Office on October 7th, and it should arrive soon, I hope!

Harvest Time Exchange Received!

I received Karen's exchange ornie in today's mail. So Quick!! Not only is the ornament cute as a button, but the finishing is too! I absolutely love it! And--Karen even made the card that came with the ornie! How beautiful! I will keep the card on display, also! I MAY be inspired to get back into scrapbooking and other paper crafts, tho I hate to take away from stitching time! The design is a blend of two Bent Creek patterns: Pumpkin Flower Sampler and Blessings Abound, stitched on 32 count coffee dyed linen, with WDW/Sampler threads. The ribbon is raffia...

I just e-mailed the Harvest Time Partners to all participants. I know I made one mistake -- I sent poor Elisa two partners (LOL). But I corrected that one, so be sure if you have signed up for the Harvest Time Exchange and did not get an e-mail with your partner's name that you contact me right away, it's certainly not impossible that I made more than one mistake.

LHN Exhange Arrived

My beautiful In the Style of LHN exchange arrived today from Wendy. It is a wonderful notebook with LHN 'ladybug, ladybug' design on the front. She also sent me two scented DMC threads which I have never tried before so I am very pleased!
In light of me just starting at university, the idea of a notebook is fantastic. Great gift and great timing. Thank you very much Wendy!

LHN Received!!

While I was away (again) for the last couple of weeks, the nice people at my post office here kept my little pkg. with the "In the style of LHN" exchange that Gaynor had sent to me all the way from Ireland. Weren't they so nice? I wasn't having a very nice day yesterday so this little treat was nice to come home to. Gaynor made up the sweetest little bell pull complete with a hanger and little bell plus she also sent me a couple of skeins of Dinkey Dyes threads as well! THANK YOU so much Gaynor! You did a wonderful job on this exchange!

Labels

I was just trying to determine if all of our Just Nan's are sent/received...and it was pretty hard to figure out because we're not putting any labels, or we're putting incorrect labels, or we have some not quite duplicate labels on our posts.

The list of searchable labels is complied by a computer, so remember that old saying "garbage in, garbage out"? The computer is quite literal, Yo Yo is not the same as Yoyo to the machine.

Please try to use the SHOW ALL feature when you label your posts (it's just to the right side of the label box). For instance, if you receive an exchange from me and want to put my name as a label, when you click on Show All you would see "Yoyo" as a previous label and you would not be tempted to type "Yo-Yo" or "Yo Yo" or "yoyo", see what I mean, we can get a lot of labels that are really only one label. If we use that Show All feature, we just click on the previously used label and it will magically appear in the label box and make searching ever so much easier.

It would really be lovely if you could put Your Name, the Exchange Name and Your Partner's name if that has already been revealed in every post. If there is something unique about this post, then add a new label if you like, for example the type of finish or the source of the design, or the off topic subject even. Just remember labels should be 'general' and of a nature to be a useful 'search criteria' to other readers.

How are we doing

I've been having internet problems for several days, my new computer didn't want to interact with the router so could not get to the internet or if I did get there the connection would die in just a few minutes, aaarrrgggg. But I think I've fixed the problem for now so I thought I'd ask how are all the In the Style of LHN participants doing? The mailing date for this exchange has just past. If you have not mailed yet please let me know. And of course we're all looking forward to seeing your posts on the pieces received. (my e-mail is yoyo_9203 at yahoo dot com)

----------

Just as an aside, I'm a member of another exchange group that is having some terrible problems with getting/sending exchanges and it's mostly due to lack of communication, so please please tell us if there is anything going on that is useful for us to know. Not just now, but for always. It is a real bummer to the entire group when a very few members start posting complaints that could have been totally avoided with an explanatory e-mail.I think we've done pretty good while Marie was recovering and I'm sure Marie and I both want this group to continue to be a nice happy, friendly place. So don't be afraid to e-mail me and say you're running late or whatever else is on your mind. We know life sometimes happens so if you have a problem let us know and together we might be able to solve it before it becomes a problem for the whole group. And that's enough on that nasty subject.

----------

I'm also bouncing e-mails with Marie right now to decide on the next exchange, so hang in for a couple of days and we'll get it announced. And just by the way, Marie seems to be doing really well. I expect she'll be back with us full time very very soon.

I just noticed today that I have not been attending to keeping up the Membership List. I just completely forgot all about it, duh! I know we've gotten several new members in the last few weeks so I'll run through my e-mails and look up all your names and get that fixed up in a jiffy, but it wouldn't hurt for everybody to look at the membership list and put a comment on this post if you are not on it.

Happy Stitching and may your mailbox be full!!

From The Home of the Totally Useless Stitcher....

Hi everybody,

.....To paraphrase YoYo and her Totally Useless SAL! I finally finished my Just Nan piece and it's on its way with a few tiny treats by way of apology. I knew I was going to be late and had permission but not this late! I do have exciting news from here, though - my husband has a job after six months of being without one. The only thing is that it's in Michigan and his company want us to move NOW! We have spent the whole of July sorting and cleaning, working some of the time, arranging for a realtor, a painter, landscapers to tidy our somewhat overgrown garden, all with the help of my sister and husband who, most unwisely, arrived for a holiday with us! We couldn't have done it without them! Anyway, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Apologies to my dear exchange partner! Onto the LHN piece now!

LHN Away!!!!!

Phew!!!!!

My LHN exchange is on it's way and I have to say, I would have quite like to have kept it...always a sign it turned out OK. As I am new to most finishing styles, there is always an element of fear but I really, really enjoyed stitching this and I hope my exchange partner likes it.

I am sending it registered post as after all that effort I would hate for it to get lost, and you never know...if the leprochauns are feeling a bit naughty anything can happen.
All the best
Gaynor

My LHN is flying away...

Today I posted my LHN exchange to my partner, I really hope they like what I made.
Happy Stitching.

Received this from Elisa in the UK. It was her first pillow finish and tassels as well. I think she did a great job. She also included two skeins of variegated floss. Thank you very much.

Mailings

I believe some of you may be getting ahead of the game here. It is not unusual for 'overseas' mailings to take up to 8 weeks for delivery. That is why you are asked to mail as early as possible when sending overseas. Please understand that we were all delayed with the Just Nan Exchange due to unforeseen circumstances and be patient. I don't think we should ever wait less than six weeks and again, 8 weeks would not seem to me as very unusual. It is of course up to you when you decide to send 'replacement' exchanges, but I really believe it is too early at this point to think any of the Just Nan's are actually lost. We regret delays, but patience is the rule.

Just Nan Seems to be Lost

Edit's Just Nan that I mailed on June 29th seems to be lost out there somewhere.
I keep hoping it will arrive but as each day goes by it seems doubtful.

Introduction of a New Member

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself to the group. My name is Wendy Jo Brees and I live in Muscatine, Iowa. I have been stitching for over 20 years and enjoy stitching a variety of different designers. I love stitching on linen, primarily 28 to 32 ct but have recently been branching out into 36 ct and really am enjoying that as well.

Here is a link to my blog: http://wentostitch.blogspot.com/

I am looking forward to getting to know you and exchanging with you as well.

Hugs and happy stitching,

Wendy Jo

How Rude!

I am sooo sorry. I have been meaning to introduce myself and kept forgetting, so I apologise for my rudeness. Sorry ;-)
My name is Gaynor, and I live in the Republic of Ireland. I know some of you already from other groups and blogland, and I am looking forward to getting to know the rest of you and share stitching projects.

I have been a bit of a lurker and finally plucked up to courage to join when LHN was to be the theme. I have only just discovered LHN and sooo many other designers though blogging and I hope to get to try lots of new designs and finishing technics through this group.

Hello from a Newbie

My name is Maggee, and I am happy to be a part of your group. I have been stitching off and on since the late 1990's, tho much more seriously since 2006. And I just switched to linen last year, so have been experimenting with so many new fabrics! I recently finished a small piece on 40-count. It wasn't so bad...I LOVE overdyed fabrics and threads and also silks! I am married with 3 grown children (and 3.25 grandchildren--my middle daughter is pregnant)and I work full time, so my stitching time is very precious. Thanks for letting me join this group. I look forward to fun exchanging.

Hugs,

Maggee

Partner List mailed

I just sent out e-mails to participants in the In the Style of LHN Exchange. If you didn't get an e-mail and should have please don't hesitate to let me know. Your exchange should be mailed by August 13th. I hope everyone has a great time with this exchange.

I did see a wonderful note from Marie that says she is feeling better posted just before this one. I'm really happy to hear she is feeling better. But, just in case, let's leave me as the contact until we know that Marie is absolutely fully recovered...I'm sure by the time the next exchange is lined up she'll be back with us full time. Welcome back sweetling, glad you are feeling good again.

So who has received their JN exchange, pictures girls we want to see lots and lots of pictures (LOL).

If you have suggestions for our next exchange please put a comment in Marie's Post (click here)

I'm still here :-)

How are we all? I am improving, back to work soon I hope, and back to normal. But will post more about that on my blog.

I'm so glad to see we are growing! Don't forget to advertise us on your blogs lol, Yoyo did a great plug the other day. I added everyone's blog to my reading list cos I realised I hadn't seen some at all. I love seeing what everyone is up to and getting new finishing ideas.

Stitching wise I have been working on my LNH exchange and my JN is being posted Monday (I forgot to take it with me today).

It's also time I guess to be thinking of what we'd like for our next exchange.......................

In The Style of LHN Exchange

We have only one more day to sign up. We are standing at an odd number so if you've been thinking about it now is the time.

Exchange from YoYo

YoYo, thank you so much for my parcel - see the lovely things I got, including my first tape measure cover done in lovely purples and pinks along with some lilac fabric and some gorgeous threads.

I am stitching away like mad but have been thrown by migraines recently and I was late starting. I have a new physical therapist who is working me to death but it seems to be working, no headaches since Monday, fingers crossed!
