Just notes

I was just updating the sidebar notes and I wanted to ask everybody to be sure to tell us WHICH exchange you received, since some of the mailings are overlapping. I have to go find my spreadsheet if you don't tell me which one you're talking about.

I see a couple of the Christmas exchanges have hit the mail, I'm so looking foward to seeing these. Christmas is my favorite and I am quite upset with myself for not being able to participate in this exchange. I know you will all be getting something really terrific!

LHN Exchange

Hi guys


So sorry I haven't been around. In a way I wish I was still off sick!! At least I had heaps of blogging and stitching time. These days I am out of the house at 5.30am and not home til 6 most evenings. It sucks!! But things will change (they better lol)


Thank you so much to Yoyo for keeping things going! I will email you this afternoon :-) I'm grabbing some computer and me time!


I have loved seeing everyones Harvest exchanges arriving!! They have been beautiful!!


I have waited in vain for Wendy's LHN to arrive, but finally have to giev up I think :-(. I have stitched a replacement so will get that off to you on Monday Wendy. I did want to show off the missing piece though so I'll post a pic of it on my blog later on when I update it (so call it vanity lol, I was soooo proud of how it turned out!!)

I just sent out e-mails to participants in the In the Style of LHN Exchange. If you didn't get an e-mail and should have please don't hesitate to let me know. Your exchange should be mailed by August 13th. I hope everyone has a great time with this exchange.

I did see a wonderful note from Marie that says she is feeling better posted just before this one. I'm really happy to hear she is feeling better. But, just in case, let's leave me as the contact until we know that Marie is absolutely fully recovered...I'm sure by the time the next exchange is lined up she'll be back with us full time. Welcome back sweetling, glad you are feeling good again.

In The Style of LHN Exchange

We have only one more day to sign up. We are standing at an odd number so if you've been thinking about it now is the time.

News and other news

Hello everybody -- welcome to our new members, so glad to have you on board! The good news is Marie is beginning to feel better -- not well yet, but much better. We may have her back with us soon. Please take care Marie, no more relapses!

On the Just Nan Exchange, we will be keeping the June 29th mail out date. I still need one more person to send me their address -- and I'm sorry right at the moment I can't remember who that is, but I'll bet you know who you are. If you haven't sent me your snail mail address and are in the Just Nan Exchange please send as soon as you can (yoyo_9203 at yahoo dot com). I would like to send Partner Names out on Friday (June 26th).

On the LittleHouse Needleworks Exchange...... Marie and I would like you to remember that this is 'our' first time at organizing a group exchange so we will make a few mistakes here and there. It has just come to our attention that LHN does not have any free designs - internet or otherwise - that we can find. (If you know of any please let us know). Anyway, in the interests of fairness all around, and knowing that some of our members may be on tighter budgets than others we really would like to have any "designer" exchange we do have some free designs available. So we would like to change the LHN Exchange to "In The Style of LittleHouse Needleworks"....which, we hope, would give members the opportunity to offer stitched pieces very much like LHN but using a 'free' chart. This is our idea, but we do want your input on this idea. Please leave us a comment (or send me e-mail) and let us know if you are agreeable -- or not-- to stitching and receiving a design "in the style of" LHN or if you would prefer that we stay with the original designer (LHN) knowing that some members may not be able to join in this exchange at this time. Both Marie and I regret not having looked deeper into the designer's offerings before calling out this next exchange and we will certainly try not to do something like this again. And we sincerely regret any inconvenience we may have caused you. Since we are able to keep the Just Nan mailing date as is I think we can leave the dates for this exchange as they are as well.

Oh, and if you are agreeable to changing to "in the style of LHN" it would be nice if you could put in your comment any designers names you know about that actually do design in that style. I personally am not acquainted with that many designers so it will take me a bunch of internet searching to find them on my own (which I can do, of course) but if you already know them please jot them down in your comment.

Now, I'm going to find a 'finish' for my lovely little Just Nan piece...it will be a surprise to me just as much as my partner because I've been looking at it for days wondering how I will finish it. I think I got pinkeeped-out after about the 8th one I made so at least I know it won't be a pinkeep (LOL).

Back but tired

Hi everyone, no I haven't fallen off the planet, but it sure feels like it. Yes it's the neverending saga - I have just returned from the hospital yet again, more surgery and very tired. I haven't had a chance to wade through my inbox but I do see a couple of messages there - I'm hoping to get email time tomorrow after a good night's sleep. We also have some new members waiting for approval, so will get to that tomorrow as well. Since this still seems an ongoing problem is there anyone interested in being a deputy blog mum - or whatever the term should be lol. I feel awful the JN exchange is so late, but it WILL be going ahead, as will the LNH.

Great to have you hear Gillian - yes we stitch something from Just Nan, finish it and sent it out, then the same for LHN next time.

Updates

I have sorted out our member list so it in on the blog with a link in the sidebar. I'm hoping we grow so much that it would have taken up way too much room otherwise lol. So please don't forget to promote us! Some have been doing a great job of flying the flag :-)

Speaking of which, we have a new member - Gillian!!

I have also updated the exchanges. Sign up for the Just Nan Exchange is May 16. Our next exchange will be Little House Needleworks, as suggested by one of our members (sorry my brain is still mush - I don't remember who it was) I have also added my email to the header to make it easier to join as Yoyo suggested :-). Any suggestions about layout of the blog, future exchanges etc is gratefully received!!! After all, this is your blog too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shay, great idea - I had put a 'useful links' section at the side, but have had nothing to put in it yet, so it doesn't show up lol. So if anyone has some great links for tutorials etc let me know. You are all now listed as authors, so able to post.

Shay has already given me a couple of ideas for exchanges she is interested in - anyone else have any they would like?

Wow, there are 4 of us! Welcome everyone :-)

Now, I am going to have to rely on you all for some feedback here in setting oup OUR blog lol.
I have added links to our blogs in the members list - is this ok with everyone? Also, I have been giving some thought to rules, or guidelines. Shay bought up the extras issue. I said I think we should make it as a lot of other groups do - no extras are to be expected. Postage can be a killer these days, as can be the exchage rate - making the cost of stash ridiculous in some places. So, while extras are nice, they are just that - extra. What are everyone elses thoughts? Any other good tips before I write guidelines?

Now, are you guys happy to promote our blog? We'd love some more members so we can get our first exchange happening!

Exchanging

Like so many I love cross stitch & enjoy exchanging items I have stitched. How much more fun is it to get wonderful stitchy surprises in the mail than bills? Since many of the groups and blogs I have encountered are full, I decided to start one!! So I hope we end up with some great new friends here and can have lots of fun!
