LHN Exhange Arrived

My beautiful In the Style of LHN exchange arrived today from Wendy. It is a wonderful notebook with LHN 'ladybug, ladybug' design on the front. She also sent me two scented DMC threads which I have never tried before so I am very pleased!
In light of me just starting at university, the idea of a notebook is fantastic. Great gift and great timing. Thank you very much Wendy!

Just Nan Biscornu

Marie sent me this stunning
Just Nan Exchange

Just Nan biscornu, and a really cool beaded scissor fob and some Australian threads which I forgot to put in the photo. I love it Marie, thank you so much. And I'll appreciate it all the more knowing you worked on it while you couldn't do much of anything else! Hugs. Oh, by the way, it really was worth the wait.

Finally!

My LHN is on it's way - apologies again for the long wait, it was the domino effect of starting late on the first one!

LHN Received!!

While I was away (again) for the last couple of weeks, the nice people at my post office here kept my little pkg. with the "In the style of LHN" exchange that Gaynor had sent to me all the way from Ireland. Weren't they so nice? I wasn't having a very nice day yesterday so this little treat was nice to come home to. Gaynor made up the sweetest little bell pull complete with a hanger and little bell plus she also sent me a couple of skeins of Dinkey Dyes threads as well! THANK YOU so much Gaynor! You did a wonderful job on this exchange!

In the Style of LHN posted

Wendy Jo asked me to post this for her as her computer and Blogger don't seem to be speaking to each other today. She put her In the Style of LHN package in the mail and is hoping it arrives safely at it's new home very soon.

Hugs, Wendy, hope your computer problem doesn't last too long.

My LHN exchange from Lisa

This is a not very good photograph of a beautiful LHN ornament from Lisa, thank you again, Lisa! I also received some rings and floss tags that will come in very useful as I am trying to get my threads in some sort of easy to find order. A long process!

My lovely exchange from YoYo

Here's my beautiful Just Nan tape cover and goodies from YoYo with apologies for not putting up a picture before. Thank you again, YoYo!

Labels

I was just trying to determine if all of our Just Nan's are sent/received...and it was pretty hard to figure out because we're not putting any labels, or we're putting incorrect labels, or we have some not quite duplicate labels on our posts.

The list of searchable labels is complied by a computer, so remember that old saying "garbage in, garbage out"? The computer is quite literal, Yo Yo is not the same as Yoyo to the machine.

Please try to use the SHOW ALL feature when you label your posts (it's just to the right side of the label box). For instance, if you receive an exchange from me and want to put my name as a label, when you click on Show All you would see "Yoyo" as a previous label and you would not be tempted to type "Yo-Yo" or "Yo Yo" or "yoyo", see what I mean, we can get a lot of labels that are really only one label. If we use that Show All feature, we just click on the previously used label and it will magically appear in the label box and make searching ever so much easier.

It would really be lovely if you could put Your Name, the Exchange Name and Your Partner's name if that has already been revealed in every post. If there is something unique about this post, then add a new label if you like, for example the type of finish or the source of the design, or the off topic subject even. Just remember labels should be 'general' and of a nature to be a useful 'search criteria' to other readers.

Just Nan Pic

Here is the pic of my Just Nan from Gillie, as promised. Don't tell anyone I've snuck onto the computer while DH is getting dinner lol. I think this design is called Sparkling Iris?? Is that right Gillie?

I Have Received..

My "In The Style of LHN" piece from Kate. Kate stitched me a "By The Bay" freebie design and made it in a cute little needlebook.
I love it Kate, thank you very much.
My partner should be close to receiving my piece soon, if not already, I'm hoping they love what I sent.
Happy stitching everyone, looking forward to the next exchange.

How are we doing

I've been having internet problems for several days, my new computer didn't want to interact with the router so could not get to the internet or if I did get there the connection would die in just a few minutes, aaarrrgggg. But I think I've fixed the problem for now so I thought I'd ask how are all the In the Style of LHN participants doing? The mailing date for this exchange has just past. If you have not mailed yet please let me know. And of course we're all looking forward to seeing your posts on the pieces received. (my e-mail is yoyo_9203 at yahoo dot com)

----------

Just as an aside, I'm a member of another exchange group that is having some terrible problems with getting/sending exchanges and it's mostly due to lack of communication, so please please tell us if there is anything going on that is useful for us to know. Not just now, but for always. It is a real bummer to the entire group when a very few members start posting complaints that could have been totally avoided with an explanatory e-mail.I think we've done pretty good while Marie was recovering and I'm sure Marie and I both want this group to continue to be a nice happy, friendly place. So don't be afraid to e-mail me and say you're running late or whatever else is on your mind. We know life sometimes happens so if you have a problem let us know and together we might be able to solve it before it becomes a problem for the whole group. And that's enough on that nasty subject.

----------

I'm also bouncing e-mails with Marie right now to decide on the next exchange, so hang in for a couple of days and we'll get it announced. And just by the way, Marie seems to be doing really well. I expect she'll be back with us full time very very soon.

I just noticed today that I have not been attending to keeping up the Membership List. I just completely forgot all about it, duh! I know we've gotten several new members in the last few weeks so I'll run through my e-mails and look up all your names and get that fixed up in a jiffy, but it wouldn't hurt for everybody to look at the membership list and put a comment on this post if you are not on it.

Happy Stitching and may your mailbox be full!!

A New Member

Hello fellow exchangers I would like to introduce to myself. My name is Brenda and I live in Wisconsin. I am a LPN working on my BSN. I'm an emptynester as of about 2 months ago. I enjoy the peaceful house. It can be a bit lonely but I get online and read different cross stitchers blogs/book blogs and I feel like I have a world within my grasp. I am going to my first stitching retreat in November. I am really excited. I have two fur babies. They give me alot of pleasure. I have a webshots page and a blog.

LHN on its way!

I mail my LHN exchange today. May not arrive by the 13th but, I had a hard time with the heat. It is an in the style of LHN, as I did not have any LHN patterns. Hope my partner likes it.

LHN exchange on it's way!

HELLO!
My LHN exchange project is on it's way today! I'm afraid the person receiving it won't get it by the assigned deadline but hope it's worth the wait for you! It was fun stitching it and it was my very first LHN design I've stitched too. Loved it! Guessing i"ll be making another for myself soon!

From The Home of the Totally Useless Stitcher....

Hi everybody,

.....To paraphrase YoYo and her Totally Useless SAL! I finally finished my Just Nan piece and it's on its way with a few tiny treats by way of apology. I knew I was going to be late and had permission but not this late! I do have exciting news from here, though - my husband has a job after six months of being without one. The only thing is that it's in Michigan and his company want us to move NOW! We have spent the whole of July sorting and cleaning, working some of the time, arranging for a realtor, a painter, landscapers to tidy our somewhat overgrown garden, all with the help of my sister and husband who, most unwisely, arrived for a holiday with us! We couldn't have done it without them! Anyway, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Apologies to my dear exchange partner! Onto the LHN piece now!

LHN Away!!!!!

Phew!!!!!

My LHN exchange is on it's way and I have to say, I would have quite like to have kept it...always a sign it turned out OK. As I am new to most finishing styles, there is always an element of fear but I really, really enjoyed stitching this and I hope my exchange partner likes it.

I am sending it registered post as after all that effort I would hate for it to get lost, and you never know...if the leprochauns are feeling a bit naughty anything can happen.
All the best
Gaynor

My LHN is flying away...

Today I posted my LHN exchange to my partner, I really hope they like what I made.
Happy Stitching.

LHN Received

Received this from Elisa in the UK. It was her first pillow finish and tassels as well. I think she did a great job. She also included two skeins of variegated floss. Thank you very much.
